Dr. Weinstein has been in practice since 2001, and went concierge in 2006. She is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Age Management/Regenerative Medicine. She is a graduate of the University of Miami where she also completed her residency. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Association of Anti-Aging Medicine, the American Society of Internal Medicine, Florida Medical Association, and the Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society. She has also received special awards by the American College of Physicians for her diagnostic acumen.
Dr. Weinstein has been featured on the radio show “What’s up Doc” and also on TV “Talk of the Town” to discuss her approach to medicine. She uses advanced diagnostic assessments and doctor-supervised and individualized exercise, nutrition, and fat-loss programs combined with one-to-one attention in a “concierge” type practice to help her patients achieve and maintain their optimal health. Her specialized practice allows her the time to focus on patients with complicated medical problems as well as practicing preventative medicine.
Her day to day patient care involves areas such as cardiovascular health, endocrinology, gastroenterology, women’s health issues, nephrology, cancer prevention, bio-identical hormone replacement, nutritional therapy, and weight management. She also utilizes her subspecialty experience through University of Miami’s Sylvester Cancer Center to perform dermatological procedures including skin cancer screening and treatment, and cosmetic procedures such as Botox and various filler applications.
She attended graduate school in Zoology at University of Hawaii, doing research in endocrinology and teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology to nursing students. For years she has served on the Nutrition Committee at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, as well as the Quality Improvement Committee, and the Medical Governance Committee.
Dr. Weinstein maintains her privileges at Sarasota Memorial Hospital where she routinely directs and oversees the daily care of any of her patients that may require hospitalization.
Dr. Weinstein truly practices what she preaches! She has been involved in competitive sports and nutrition her whole life has been an “All American Triathlete” ranked in the top 5% of the country for several years. She completed her first Ironman triathlon in an impressive 11 hours and 26 minutes, and repeatedly qualifies for the Boston Marathon, which she has completed in 3 hours and 31 minutes. She also competed in the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon World Championship a total of three times and in 2008 finished in 6th place. She has retired from triathlon and running competitions, but is an avid spearfisherwoman, consistently ranking in the Top 3 in her division.
When she is not caring for patients, she serves as a guide in triathlons and running races for her step-daughter, Tiffany, who is hearing and vision-impaired. Sheri is a resident of Sarasota, FL, where she lives with her husband, Rob, who is also in the medical field and a former pro triathlete, and their dog and three cats.
